Relationship of love is based on mutual trust and understanding. But, when negative emotions take over love, the relation gets sour. Possessiveness is one such emotion. When you get possessive in love, you loose your dignity and respect. Why a person does get possessive in a relationship at first place? There can be various reasons for the same.

Many a times, a person tends to get so emotionally attached, in a relationship, that possessiveness takes its place. In such cases, a person becomes emotionally dependent on other partner. As a result of which emotion of possessiveness takes place. A person who is possessive in nature always wants to be center of attraction for other person.

In the case of this relationship, there is no security of any kind involved. A person becomes possessive because of insecurity. Insecurity may of any form or situation. A possessive relationship is full of pain and arguments. But, when do you know the relationship is turning possessive? There are many reasons for the same. When your partner constantly keeps in touch with you, the relationship is possessive. Though being in touch is not a negative factor. But, asking you minute details about your life is a negative factor.

Other than this, possessive partner is always inquisitive about your life. Whatever you say is not respected and taken, is sign of possessive relationship. A possessive lover always tries to find out about your past and things related to you. When your partner considers small things as big issues, problems persist from that particular time.

Wherever you go your partner follows is a sign of possessiveness. A possessive relationship can never materialize in a positive manner. When things go worse in this case, it’s best to opt for quits in this case. It’s no use staying in a relationship, where you aren’t happy. And, there is absolutely no longing for each other

But if you are loyal to your beloved one then you wont expect him/her to turn possesive... According to me possessive comes when u try to hide something assuming ur beloved cant trace it.... even if anyone is possesive by nature can be leave his possessiveness with ones loyalty....

Don't lie so that you don't need to think in future to answer ur beloved which does lead to possesivity.....

but, have u considered the thought that sometimes you need or are forced to lie because the other person don't and won't understand you nor your intentions?.. there is always pros and cons in every situation, this matter of possessiveness for me is never right at all.. the best thing is, each of us should learn to listen, understand and accept no matter what..

Thanks brod for this interesting and worthwhile article.

I certainly agree with all the facts mentioned in your post about possessiveness in a relationship.  I have a friend with this type of problem that got her so devastated.  She had to part ways with her childhood mutual friend and coping up with her bad and sad experience.

However, if we see any sign of this type of behavioral problem, it is better to end the relationship sooner before it develops to something seriously regrettable. We don't need to waste our precious time on a situation that would only result into terribly frustration later on in our life.

I dont think that saying a lie will create possessiveness. Saying lie may create a misunderstanding, but surely not a possessiveness. Thanks for the comments..

Thanks for this nice article Karthi dear.

my point of view is that jealousy plays a very important part where there

is someone possesive about his/her other part.

the one who loves someone too much does not accept him/her to be with another person of the opposite sex.

there is the fear factor also which plays a part.... one fears to lose his/her love in case the other person is brighter or better in some ways than oneself.

Possessive....wat word its form from......i think as per u karthi dmain reasone is insecurity & absence of trust..if u wont trust ur belivers dan insecurity increses.......bt other part is i think more affection n extream love.......when extream loves leads to dominance..dan its cum to rightful tactics...human nature says dat....it mine n only mine.i don wanna share ......whn its becum extream dan treatments turn in to like commodity....we forgot that oppsit person is also human being like us....we shud not mould them as we are...

other part of pzsvness ,some ppl enjoy it as lil bit......as they can think the person is granted.....its jus like they provok them to get some........n yeah its true n u can c newhere.......so mny person really testify by diffrent way....n yes its still exits in all ppl.......i think its basic thing of human being no one can deny it.......

jelosy......its another part of that......when its extream dan offcourse the person loose d control of self.........loose d control of thinking...n try to dominate the loved one by his or her way......in this matter he or she always try to build the castle on lies way.......n for this lie they always tryin to prove with evidence...for wat?

neways live it i thin possessivnes is negativness which always ve to spit it out........build the trus by possitive manner n truthful to ur partner.....thats it..

always talk to ur partner watever u feels.......no need to inhale the air of insecurities & poizen of jeolsy....its always danger to both.

its depend on undertsanding..its jus like freedom n feeling towards yr partner how much love n care is der.......

neways i don knw whether i wrot it wrong or right bt i felt i ve to give some few words for this article......

n KARTHI u r the best man.........
